University Food Services A Key Influencer Group

July 24, 2025

In June, Canadian Food Focus sponsored the 2025 ‘Feeding the Future’ conference of the Canadian College & University Food Service Association (CCUFSA). This group represents administrators and chefs that oversee food service operations and educational programming for students and staff members in post-secondary educational institutions across the country.

The conference took place at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC. As a sponsor, CFF hosted an exhibit at the event tradeshow alongside many of Canada’s foremost foodservice companies. CFF also supported the keynote presentation on Indigenous Food Ways with chef and consultant Jared Qwustenuxun Williams. Other presentations during the conference included leadership, artificial intelligence, trends in foodservice and menu development, and sustainable food systems.

71 colleges and universities across Canada
98 associate member organizations & individuals
261 attendees at 2025 conference
82 trade show exhibits

CCUFSA is a new partner for CFF in 2025. This is a key influencer group as they not only decide on the foods offered to post-secondary students across Canada, but also present information on food choices into the future. Very few of these chefs and administrators have training or background about how food is grown, yet many have strong ideas and influence about what constitutes ‘good’ food. As we go forward, Canadian Food Focus will serve as a learning resource for CCUFSA participants and a conduit to connect more directly with farmers. Strengthening these relationships is a key part of CFF’s work to build trust in Canadian food and farming.
