Background and Purpose
Canadian Food Focus is a multifaceted consumer engagement program promoting and celebrating Canadian food and agriculture. As part of our commitment to providing accurate and valuable information to consumers and stakeholders, we have established a National Advisory Group. The purpose of this group is to provide strategic advice, insights, and recommendations to Canadian Food Focus to enhance its effectiveness in communicating about Canadian food and agriculture.
Objectives
- To Provide Strategic Advice: Offer guidance on key priorities, challenges, and opportunities for Canadian Food Focus.
- To Enhance Content Quality: Review strategic direction and provide feedback for improvement on content and materials developed by Canadian Food Focus as required.
- To Identify Emerging Trends: Stay informed about trends and topics in food and agriculture communication and recommend strategies to adapt and evolve.
- To Provide Leadership: to national consumer engagement initiatives.
The Advisory Group will engage in the following activities:
- Act as ambassadors for Canadian Food Focus within respective networks.
- Contribute insights and expertise on food and agriculture topics relevant to Canadian consumers and stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for collaboration, partnership, or outreach to enhance Canadian Food Focus’ impact.
- Attend meetings (virtual or in-person) and actively participate in discussions.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information discussed within the group.
The Advisory Group will consist of diverse stakeholders representing various sectors related to food and agriculture, including:
- Representatives from the agriculture and food industries.
- Food professionals: chefs, dietitians, and health professionals.
- Academics and researchers in food science and agriculture.
- Consumer advocates and influencers.
Advisors will be by invitation from Canadian Food Focus, based on expertise and experience relevant to the organization’s mission for a 2-year renewable term. Members of the Advisory Group will serve voluntarily and will be acknowledged for their contributions, as appropriate.
The establishment of this Advisory Group aims to leverage diverse expertise and perspectives to improve Canadians’ farm and food knowledge
