About Canadian Food Focus (CFF)
Canadian Food Focus is a national non-profit aimed at improving food literacy among Canadians from farm-gate to plate. We help people understand how food is grown and raised, providing expert advice so Canadians can make confident, informed choices about their food.
Launched in 2019, CFF operates independently and is dedicated to sharing science-based, factual information in both French and English. Through an extensive online library, social media, influencer partnerships, and educational events, CFF reaches urban Canadians and represents the entire food and farming sector.

Commitment to Stakeholders

This group provides strategic advice, insights, and recommendations to help CFF communicate effectively about Canadian food and agriculture, ensuring our information remains accurate, valuable, and relevant to both consumers and stakeholders.
Our Approach
- Consumer-Driven Content: We start the conversation with food, recognizing it is the most direct and personal connection to agriculture for most Canadians. Through recipes, stories, and practical advice, we engage people’s curiosity about the food they eat—then connect that interest to the bigger story of Canadian agriculture.
- Factual and Science-Based: Our information is grounded in research and tailored to answer real questions that Canadians have about food and farming. We ensure our content resonates emotionally while remaining trustworthy and relatable.
- Multi-Platform Engagement: We reach people where they are—on our website, across social media channels, through food influencers, and via targeted advertising. We collaborate with dietitians, bloggers, chefs, and science communicators to broaden our message beyond the usual echo chambers of agriculture.
- Influencer Community and Outreach: We empower food professionals and influencers through farm tours, courses, and webinars—helping them communicate confidently about food production. Additional outreach includes farm tours, national events, and partnerships with organizations across the Canadian food landscape.
Canadian Food Focus leads with food because food is the most intimate way that consumers come to agriculture. On a daily basis, consumers are thinking, “What’s for dinner? Why is food so expensive right now? Is my child getting enough iron? Am I getting enough iron?”
Consumers have questions about sustainability, fertilizers, pesticides, GMOs and issues such as animal welfare, climate change, migrant workers… We do address these topics. We lead with food to start the conversation and position ourselves as the go-to place for information on Canadian food.
